She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Kansas Wesleyan University and earned her Master of Social Work from Boston College, where she also completed a certificate in neuroscience. Avery is a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Massachusetts. Her clinical background includes experience in both school-based and outpatient settings, where she has supported youth and adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration, interpersonal challenges, and life transitions.
Avery believes that strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of meaningful therapeutic work. She collaborates closely with clients and their families, using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to help them process their experiences and feel empowered in their healing. Avery draws from a variety of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness, tailoring her approach to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. She is known for creating a safe, affirming space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions without judgment. Her calm, genuine presence helps clients feel seen, valued, and supported. Outside of sessions, Avery enjoys spending time with loved ones, attending music concerts, and cheering on her favorite teams at sporting events. She finds joy in the small moments and considers it a deep honor to walk alongside clients on their path toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. |
